A Star-Spangled Misfire

Captain America (1990) stars Reb Brown as the iconic superhero. Albert Pyun directs the action. Itโ€™s a nineties flick. Think neon, big hair, and a lot of slow-mo. Forget Robert Downey Jr. This Cap is all muscle and one-liners.

A Plot as Thin as Cardboard

Cap wakes up. Heโ€™s got super powers. Red Skull is bad. Cap fights Red Skull. Thereโ€™s explosions and slow-mo punches. Cap wins. Itโ€™s simple. Itโ€™s stupid. Itโ€™s the nineties.

A Guilty Pleasure Gem

Ignore the critics. Captain America (1990) is a time capsule. It’s bad, but itโ€™s so bad itโ€™s good. Brown is a surprisingly decent Cap. The action is cheesy, but itโ€™s fun. This movie is a neon-soaked, over-the-top superhero spectacle. Donโ€™t watch it for a deep story. Watch it for the ridiculousness. Itโ€™s a guilty pleasure.
