Attack of the Giant Leeches

Our Take

Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959) - A humid, swampy nightmare where the water is thick and the predators are oversized, rubbery bloodsuckers. This is a gritty, Southern-gothic horror show filled with adultery, swamp-rat characters, and a creeping sense of claustrophobia. The leeches drag their victims down to underwater caves to drain them slowly, which is a hell of a way to go on a Tuesday. It’s a low-budget, grease-stained classic that captures the raw, mosquito-bitten atmosphere of the Everglades better than any high-gloss Hollywood production ever could.
