A Powerful Short About A Refugee In The Near Future!
Set in 2020, a brewing cyberwar between the US and Iran puts Sonia, a young Iranian refugee, at risk of deportation. Her only escape may come at a greater price than she’s willing to pay.
Mohammad Gorjestani wrote and directed Refuge, which is a thought-provoking look at what can happen when corporate interests and politics collide to put individual people in coercive situations. And Nikohl Boosheri’s Sonia has to ask whether she’s willing to do something she’d never otherwise consider to achieve her goals.
