Tormented

Our Take

Tormented (1960) - Bert I. Gordon takes a break from giant monsters to deliver a jagged, guilt-ridden ghost story that tastes like sea salt and regret. A jazz pianist lets his ex-lover fall to her death, and she spends the rest of the movie making his life a living, breathing hell. It’s a low-budget psychological autopsy where the ghost isn't just a haunt, but a manifestation of a rotting conscience. The visuals are eerie, the atmosphere is heavy with coastal fog, and the ending is a cynical, cold-blooded reminder that you can never truly outrun your own sins.
