Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959) - Ed Wood was a man with a heart full of dreams and a budget of absolutely nothing, and this is his ultimate, accidental masterpiece of the bizarre. Aliens in spandex, cardboard cockpits, and a dead Bela Lugosi being replaced by a guy holding a cape over his face. It’s a glorious, defiant wreck of a movie that proves that passion—no matter how deluded or incompetent—is the only thing that really matters in the dark. It is the holy grail of beautiful cinematic disasters.
