Death Race 2000 (1975)

Plot:

Death Race 2000 is set in the near future where the ultimate sporting event is the deathrace where pedestrians are run down for points.

Death Race 2000 (1975) Review

‘Mad Max’ meets the ‘Running Man’ and they both drive over miss Daisy. ‘Death Race 2000’ is a disconcerting smithereen job, but also fun. It is unprobable to say the least: ‘Frankenstein’ as the embodiment of national virtue? Nice thought over a dose of mescaline maybe. With unbelievable music too. Everything seems 2 B possible: ethical correct splatter comedies? You’ve got it. The acting in this supposed SF (caricatures of the immoral society of the future) is absolutely horrible (apart from Carradine and Griffeth). Add some black humor and non-existing emotions and you have Death Race 2000: the obscure cult flick in which Sly gets slapped around some as driver Machine-Gun Joe Viterbo. And retrospectively one of his best roles, besides ‘First Blood’ and ‘Rocky’.

Luckily there was room in the rating for some graphical splatter and nudity, which is why this has become a cult movie. And fat chance the uncut version will be banned where I live. It is more than questionable if the story is really about the fear of America becoming that chauvinistic and drenched in bloodlust. I get the impression that most of it is just a glorification of violence. But in a more thoroughly humorous way than e.g. Wild Bunch (1969) et al. Imagine the American president has a summer house in Peking, or driver Mathilda the Hun has a nazi-navigator Herman the German…

DR2k was appropriately filmed by the great cinematographer Tak Fujimoto (Badlands, Silence of the lambs, Sixth Sense, and last but not least Ferris Bueller’s day off). Good for Paul Bartel that he made Death Race 2000 before George Miller made Mad Max (1978), because it would have been a completely obsolete cartoon otherwise: something like Evil Knievel vs Dick Dastardly. Nevertheless DR2k is quite enjoyable. This movie may be inspired by ‘the Cars that ate Paris’ (Weir, 1974) and seemed to have inspired ‘Carmageddon’ (VG) and Mad Max of course. Guys, it’s been real. Jesus Chrysler, I’d almost rate this 6/10. – rogierr

The Green Hornet (1940)

Plot:

The Green Hornet follows newspaper editor Britt Reid becomes the crime fighter the Green Hornet. Donning a disguise, the Hornet and his brilliant Korean inventor/sidekick Kato fight an infamous racket that’s menacing their city.

The Green Hornet (1940) Review:

The Green Hornet (1940) is a series of Universal Pictures, based on the series of eponymous radio, and presenting the hero Green Hornet, created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker.

‘The Green Hornet’ is, overall, a pretty good serial with a good plots that are much more grounded in reality than most other serials. It does not involve super-powers, magic, outer space, or super-villains. It’s about crime.

This video includes all 13 episodes in

Proximity (2013)

Plot:

Short Film Proximity puts us with two men after waking up. They find their ankles rigged with proximity triggered bombs, bound together while being forced to play a twisted game of survival as they are hunted by their captors. It is set in a world which reminds me of “The hunger games” but still manages to be original and fresh. I would like to see an expansion of this idea and this world, perhaps in the form of a mini series or even a feature film.

Short Film Proximity (2013) – Low Budget but High Quality Thriller

This is an awesome short film! The story is very creative, and intriguing. The style of film making used here was awesome. Proximity is a good example of the work that Ryan Conolly is expected to produce. Low budget, yet high quality, made very quickly, yet is seems like the film had more production value than it actually had.

Directed by Ryan Connolly
Writers: Ryan Connolly, Seth Worley
Starring: Todd Bruno, Josh Connolly, Justin Robinson

High Risk (1981)

Plot:

Four American friends, badly needing money, decide to make a commando-like raid into a South American country and steal $5 million from the hacienda of an American-born drug dealer who lives there. The four Americans then succeed rather easily in stealing the money, but soon run into trouble trying to get back out of the country, as both the drug dealer and a small army of bandits each hunt them down trying to get the money.

Watch High Risk (1981) because…

This movie has everything! Shootouts, planes, bandits, drug dealers, great locations, and most of all, a really good bunch of actors at the top of their game. There’s enough action for two Rambo movies, as lots of lighthearted comedy. This is a good action movie that was overlooked because Raiders of the Lost Ark came out at the same time. Recommended to anyone looking for a genuine diamond-in-the-rough eighties film!

Director: Stewart Raffill
Starring: James Brolin, Anthony Quinn, Lindsay Wagner

Sister Street Fighter (1974)

https://ok.ru/video/995656010392

Sister Street Fighter (1974) tells a story of a martial-arts champion who the police use as an undercover agent to infiltrate a drug ring responsible for importing heroin from Japan to Hong Kong. When he is identified and imprisoned, the police pressure his sister, Tina Long, to help them locate and free him. She gets the help of Lee’s martial-arts school, including the powerful Sonny Kawasaka, for the inevitable battle-royale with the drug gang, which includes masters of many different ‘schools’ of fighting.

This Japanese action film is the unofficial sequel to The Street Fighter from earlier in the same year, and is filled with much of the same type of frenetic and violent kung-fu fighting. Despite the title’s seeming connection to the wildly popular Street Fighter film series starring Sonny Chiba, Sister Street Fighter is more of a spiritual successor and carries on many of the themes and conventions of that series. Indeed, Chiba also plays a karate expert here, but also a different character. The film itself is fun and wild in the way only JAC films tend to be: crazy villains, wild deaths, a bit of sleaze, and lots of suspension of disbelief. Borrowing more than a few elements from the legendary Enter the Dragon, released just a year earlier, it’s a mishmash of ideas that somehow forms a narrative that while not always cohesive, lends itself well to mayhem on the screen.filmsmash

The Fast And The Furious (1955): Fast cars and Furious racing to Mexico!

[videojs_video url=”https://freemoviescinema.com/filmz/fstfrs54crmnclr” poster=”https://freemoviescinema.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/fastfurious1954-recolor.webp” width=”100%” height=”360″]

Grease ’em up, gearheads! This ain’t no chrome-plated remake, baby!

Forget the fancy CGI and million-dollar muscle cars. The Fast and The Furious (remastered and lookin’ hotter than a cherry-red Chevy in July!) is a bare-knuckles burner from 1954. We’re talkin’ recolored black and white classic with a soundtrack that’ll rev your engine and jolt your java. This ain’t your boy band kind of fast. This is nitty-gritty street racing, fueled by adrenaline and a whole lotta octane.

John Ashley: Rebel with a grease wrench.

Johnny (John Ashley) ain’t your typical hoodlum. Sure, he races for pink slips and a chance to prove himself. But there’s a code of honor under that leather jacket. He respects the competition, and when a crooked promoter tries to muscle in on his turf, Johnny don’t back down. He throws down a challenge: winner takes all, loser takes a dirt nap.

Forget fancy imports, these rides are built, not bought!

No souped-up supras here. These are classic jalopies, all hopped-up and souped-up by grease-stained gearheads. We’re talkin’ rumbling V8s, throaty exhaust pipes, and enough chrome to blind a buzzard. The director throws us right into the heart of the race – shaky camerawork, roaring engines, and near misses that’ll have you gripping your seat.

This ain’t just a race, it’s a war!

The promoter’s muscle? They ain’t exactly choirboys. They’re a buncha grease monkeys with shifty eyes and a taste for dirty tricks. They’ll cheat, ram, and sabotage anything with four wheels to win. But Johnny? He ain’t playin’ patty-cake. He fights fire with fire, wrench against crowbar, in a winner-take-all brawl to the checkered flag.

So, The Fast and The Furious: Remastered a gas guzzler worth fillin’ up for?

Hell yeah! This ain’t highfalutin’ cinema, but it’s a pure shot of adrenaline. Raw, exciting, and dripping with retro cool. The remastered black and white pops, the soundtrack will crank your inner greaser, and the races will have you cheering for Johnny all the way. So, if you crave a blast from the asphalt past, then buckle up for The Fast and The Furious (remastered) – it’s a white-knuckled ride you won’t forget!

Sleeping Dogs (2012)

Sleeping Dogs (2012) – Dangers of Hong Kong, modern metropolis and a vibrant neon city!

Sleeping Dogs (2012) – Welcome to Hong Kong, a vibrant neon city teeming with life, whose exotic locations and busy streets hide one of the most powerful and dangerous criminal. Video-game is focused on Wei Shen, an undercover cop trying to take down the Triads from the inside out. You’ll have to prove yourself worthy as you fight your way up the organization, taking part in brutal criminal activities without blowing your cover. Torn between your loyalty to the badge and a criminal code of honor, you will risk everything as the lines between truth, loyalty and justice become permanently blurred. It is reminescent of early Shaw Bros classics and heroic bloodshed genre of Hong Kong cinema.

Acting is not that impressive, but the fight sequences are really well choreographed with pretty amazing stunts! It’s impressive how every table seen was broken in this film! If only Hollywood would more often listen to the fans… The 8-minute film was created by Clinton Jones known to YouTube fans as pwnisher. Interesting fact is that mr. Jones is colorblind. Clinton has been practicing Shu Nen Do, Kempo, and Shaolin Kung Fu since he was 9 years old. He draws inspiration from the works of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. Clinton was raised in Chino Hills, CA until the age of 15. It wasn’t until he and his family moved to Atlanta, GA when his interest in making short films kicked in. Clinton used YouTube as a means of inspiration and a way of getting his work seen by the world. He mainly focused on making Visual Effects related short films. In June of 2011, Clinton moved to Los Angeles, CA, and is now focusing on writing, directing, and visual effects work. EMC Monkeys did fight choreography for Sleeping Dogs!

Bad to the Jones (2011)

During a zombie outbreak in the MidWest, zombie slayers Craig and Tyrone Jones desperately search for their missing sister only to be harassed by the thousands of blood hungry zombies. Their mission slowly turns comedic when the 2 brothers argue about who is the better slayer of the 2. The journey lands them 4 outsiders who are asked to join the team in a desperate mission to save a life. To some it is “freaking hillarious”, “production, camera, acting, sfx, sound all A++++++” but to the others it was “so many kinds of stupid, and the effects suck to high hell”, ” the dialogue could be tightened up”, “the actors’ grooming seemed far too perfect to be believable”. Singular (2014)

Singular (2014) – Amazing Superhero Movie

But what begins as an ordinary ‘everyday’ beating ends up spiraling out of control, putting our hero in a life-or-death situation where courage, leadership and sacrifice will guide Andy — and Sofia — to discover the true meaning of “being special”.

The Colombian brother duo Juan Felipe and Carlos Esteban Orozco became familiar names after thriller “Saluda Al Diablo De Mi Parte” a few years back. Their new sci-fi short film “Singular” is so amazing that it simply MUST be made into a full feature movie.
