Koyaanisqatsi (1982)

Koyaanisqatsi also known as Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance, is a 1982 American experimental non-narrative film directed and produced by Godfrey Reggio. A collection of expertly photographed phenomena with no conventional plot. The footage focuses on nature, humanity, and the relationship between them.

Baraka (1992)

Baraka is a 1992 non-narrative documentary film directed by Ron Fricke. The film is often compared to Koyaanisqatsi, the first of the Qatsi films by Godfrey Reggio for which Fricke served as the cinematographer. It is also the most recent film to be photographed in the 70mm Todd-AO format, and the first film ever to be restored and scanned at 8K resolution.

Kora (2014)

Kora is a Tibetan Buddhist phrase for a pilgrimage. The film, Kora, provides a similar journey – an exodus of the senses and the mind. A hypnotic, non-narrative film, in the vein of such classics as Koyaanisqatsi or Baraka, Kora combines images from Chinese and Tibetan culture, along with other sights and landscapes from those environs, with electronic music.

Samsara (2011)

Filmed over nearly five years in 25 countries on five continents, and shot on 70mm film, experience the varied worlds of sacred grounds, disaster zones, industrial complexes, and natural wonders.

HUMAN’s Musics (2018)

The idea with HUMAN was to create songs that would reflect the same emotion generated by the interviews. I wanted things to open up, to open up one’s heart, to let the sadness be without any restraint. HUMAN has been one of these rare moments in my life as a film composer during which I could express all these different cultures at the same time : either working on minimalist songs or meeting with these singers and musicians coming from all around the world. A film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand / Composed by Armand Amar
